CNC Miller/Setter/Operator and programmer

Role Summary
SPM is looking to recruit a flexible shift worker to set-up, operate and program edit our Milling Machines. Due to the capability of the machines and Sheffield Precision Medical s varied product range it is advantageous that you will have experience in other CNC to enhance and become part of our highly skilled and flexible team.
CNC Miller/Setter/Operator/programmer Role and Responsibilities
- Competent to operate CNC 3, 4 & 5 Axis milling machines; operate controls, adjusting wear offsets, manual data input.
- To set-up machines accurately to ensure repeatability
- Read programs, edit existing programs, and capability of writing basic programs long hand.
- Ability to read detailed engineering drawings
- Comprehensive use of measuring equipment (Venires, Micrometres, Gauges, Shadow graphs etc.)
- Good understanding of Tooling & fixturing
- Have the ability to work unsupervised in line with customer deadlines and problem solve
- Have the ability to consistently maintain high levels of quality

CNC Miller/Setter/Operator general guidelines
- Have a helpful attitude towards all personnel, fostering good working relationships
- Give specific attention to detail to those on his/her section and other sections as required by management
- Good time keeping
- Maintain good working practises
- Uphold Company policies including but not exhaustive of, eating and drinking policy, mobile phones and IT equipment policies
- Implement Health and safety policy, which is relevant to his/her section
- Monitoring of equipment within section and identifying maintenance requirements and notifying management
- Flexibility is key in this new role, we are looking for someone to cover possible afternoon and night shift patterns. Hours to be discussed further at interview
- This role will cover our second shift pattern (1pm-11pm Mon-Thurs) alternating with (6am-2pm Mon-Friday)
