WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR
We are currently recruiting for a Commercial Officer Data Guardian to assist RBSL in discharging its responsibilities within specified programmes and platforms and also assist in the Business Winning activity for RBSL.
Position Duties and Responsibilities
- To mature, maintain, lead and manage the process which ensures RBSL members of the Challenger 2 Life Extension Project effectively and securely manage Company and third party information and which ensures compliance with Company, statutory and third party requirements
- To mature, maintain, lead and manage the approach to recording Customer obligations in providing Government Furnished Assets (GFA) (including the process of applying for changes to the scope of agreed GFA) on the Challenger 2 Life Extension Project, ensuring GFA management is effective, with any deficiencies in GFA swiftly highlighted, as necessary
- Ensuring that Company, statutory, contractual and 3rdparty requirements and obligations in relation to the protection and management of information are clearly understood by members of the RBSL Challenger 2 Life Extension Project and are reflected in the contract deliverables and other documents generated by RBSL in support of the Project
- Provision of advice to RBSL members of the Challenger 2 Life Extension Project on the management and protection of information and the availability of GFA
- Provision of advice and guidance to the project management and other Functions as required to allow compliance with all aspects of the Business Management System relating to the management, control and security of Company and third party information, ensuring that the receipt and transfer of information is covered by appropriate commercial and export agreements
- Liaison with the CR2 Life Extension Project Customer with respect to GFA. For example: requests for changes to existing Customer GFA obligations; requests for additional GFA; deficiencies in GFA supplied
- Generation, where relevant, of transmittal notes (TNs) for outbound information
- Generation, where relevant, of receipt and/or error/discrepancy notes for inbound information
- Maintaining transfer records
- Liaison with the Business' other subject matter experts as appropriate
- Generation of Commercial Life Cycle Management (LCM) deliverables in accordance with company protocol, ensuring compliance with all Business and functional processes and systems
- Responsibility for the Commercial team obtaining requisite approvals to create and release proposals including pricing aspects
- Development and maintenance of good customer relationships
- Support in the creation, negotiation and agreement of a wide range of Non-Disclosure, Partnership, Teaming and other agreements with external Customers and Partners
- Understanding of the impact of aspects of the law that affect activities of the commercial function and taking appropriate actions
- Adhere to SHE obligations and standard business working instructions contained in the Business Management System (BMS)
- Quality Assurance - Perform all work/tasks in accordance with project/functional requirements and to the standards prescribed in supporting technical documentation. Proactively seek opportunities for continuous improvement and support quality assurance activities and improvement initiatives deployed by the business. Participate actively as a key member of the business in continuously developing the business as a whole to become the market leading company
WHAT QUALIFICATIONS YOU SHOULD HAVE
A good understanding of government security classification and export control regimes.
Sound knowledge and experience in receiving, storing, handling and transmitting security classified information etc.
An understanding of intellectual property and the protection of intellectual property rights and those belonging to third parties.
Proven data management skills or equivalent qualification.
Able to operate under own initiative and direction within Company delegation of responsibility parameters.
Ideally some experience in a customer facing role and with good language and analytical skills
Understanding of the impact and implications of decisions made
Customer Relationship Management
Ability to work as part of effective multi-functional bid / project teams
Educated to a A level standard or with previous relevant experience
Good professional knowledge of Commercial principles, techniques and practices
Has developed a basic Commercial knowledge
Has developed a basic level of business acumen in terms of wider business
