HR and Recruitment Officer

Location: Cambridge, CB23 8SQ
Salary: £24K - £30K per annum (FTE)
Contract: Full time or part time
Hours: Mon Fri 8am 5pm (full time) or at least 16 hours per week (part time)

We are looking for a tenacious, competent and organized individual to join our high-paced, dynamic Team in Bar Hill.

As our HR and Recruitment Officer you will be responsible for:

  • Providing general support to our team in connection with delivering human resources assistance as well as assisting in the recruitment process.
  • Managing the "HR" and "Training" sections of our internal system, ensuring they are up to date
  • Reviewing, amending and creating internal policies, risk assessments and SOPs as required
  • Creating or updating new job descriptions as required
  • Assisting with booking and carrying out of interviews and employee HR meetings
  • Issuing employment contracts / offers
  • Updating databases with new starters and leavers, and keeping employee details up to date (including data, meetings and training records)
  • Managing onboarding process of induction and exit interviews
  • Creating training material in the "Training" section as required
  • Suggesting and coordinating company wide training programs and team building exercises
  • Researching courses and suitable training providers
  • Follow up with employees regarding effectiveness of training on a timely manner
  • Carrying out employee appraisals
  • Assisting procurement team with research, purchasing and payments as required
  • Provide support to other team members and get involved in ad-hoc projects as required
  • Identifying and suggesting improvements for the "HR" and "Training" sections or anything else

In order to be successful in this role you should have:

  • An HR related qualification or proven experience in an administrative position
  • IT literacy, particularly in Microsoft products, including Excel
  • Good numerical skills
  • A proactive mindset with a keen eye for detail
  • Fluent English language skills, with excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • You will be highly self-motivated, organized, decisive, efficient and practical.
  • You will have an ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously, will enjoy proofreading and writing and be passionate about helping people.
