We are actively recruiting Security Support Officers on behalf of our client MTC, to join their team based at Manston s short-term holding facility run by the UK Home Office in Kent.
We are not necessarily looking for someone that ticks every box as no direct experience is needed due to our client providing full training for the role, however we are looking for candidates who are caring, hardworking and willing to learn.
Duties include, but are not limited to:
- You will be responsible for ensuring a safe, secure and decent environment for detained persons in our care.
- Being the first point on contact for Detainees, Understanding and supporting the different experiences, faiths, beliefs, and cultural values.
- Being responsible for overseeing all site activity via our control room; including processing arrivals of Detainees and discharges, welcoming visitors, escorting and vehicle checks.
- Being active whilst supporting Gate Admissions, ensuring secure entry and exit on and off site.
- Providing a Supportive environment for people during a difficult and stressful time within their lives, by conducting regular patrols across site to ensure the safety of everyone.
- To adhere to additional tasks such as Administration, reception, and telephone duties to support the overall running of the centre on a day/night basis.

We will require all candidates to hold a Valid, in date UK passport (or equivalent right to work) and be able to meet the requirements of CTC clearance. (Counter terrorism clearance)
If successful; you will undertake a 2-week training course to ensure you are fully Operational to do the role.

This is a Full time, Permanent position - you will be working an average of 40 hours per week, on a rolling rota:
Your Shift Patterns will be made up of a combination of the following:
Early shift: 07:30 to 16:00
Late shift: 14:00 to 22:30
A shift: 08:00 to 22:00
Night shift: 20:00 to 08:00
