Our client, a multi-site branded food manufacturer is looking for an individual who is looking to broaden their skills and transition from a Specifications Technologist position into more of a data support role. The role of Junior Business Analyst would suit someone who has previously worked with raw material or finished product specifications and who has an understanding of recipe formulation to enable understanding of the Product Lifecycle Management systems from a user perspective full training will be given on the IT aspects of the role. The role will involve liaison with all sites within the group and will be the first point of contact for Ingredients Specification Co-ordinators concerning any system queries.
Reporting to the Business Analyst, responsibilities for the role will include:
- Ensuring the Product Lifecycle Management (PLM) software solutions support meets the strategic and process needs of the business with specific focus on Materials Specifications, Recipe Management, Quality and Product to Market processes
- Contributing to and ensuring that the PLM support and change management is delivered effectively within the analyst s area of responsibility and expectations are managed
- Providing First and Second Line support through to completion
- Escalating issues to the Analyst/Developer, Business Analyst and Head of Centre of Excellence (CoE), where appropriate
- Facilitating the delivery of PLM IT services, application development and support, from third-party service providers
- Optimising the support delivery with the third-party service provider
- Managing own KPIs
- Maintaining all relevant documentation
Essential / Desirable skills include:
- Experience working with Raw Material or Finished Product Specifications in the Food industry
- Knowledge of Food Manufacturing processes and previous Food Industry experience, primarily from Process/Specification Technologist roles in an FMCG company
- Experience of Product Lifecycle Management Information Systems (specification and recipe management systems)
- Interest and ability in using Information systems
- Project Management experience desirable

The working hours are 40 hours per week, Monday to Friday, 8:00am 5:00pm, with flexibility to meet the needs of the business. The salary for the role is up to £40k per annum plus an excellent benefits package. The role would suit an experienced Specification Technologist who is looking to transition into an IT Support role. The role is mostly home/remote based with team meetings on site in County Durham (minimum of 2 per month) and occasional domestic / international travel.
