Job Description

We at Twenty4Seven Education are currently seeking a dedicated and innovative Design and Technology (DT) Teacher to join our team in Coventry.

As a DT Teacher, you will play a pivotal role in inspiring students to explore design principles, develop practical skills, and create innovative solutions to real-world problems.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Plan and deliver engaging and practical DT lessons that cover a range of design processes, materials, and technologies.

  • Create a stimulating and supportive learning environment where students feel encouraged to experiment, collaborate, and think critically.

  • Teach skills in woodworking, metalwork, electronics, CAD/CAM, and other relevant areas, ensuring students have opportunities to develop both traditional and modern manufacturing techniques.

  • Integrate lessons on sustainability, ergonomics, and user-centered design to promote responsible and ethical design practices.

  • Differentiate instruction to support students of varying levels of experience and ability, providing personalized support and challenge as needed.

  • Assess student progress through practical projects, design portfolios, and written assignments, providing constructive feedback to support their technical skills and creative development.

Requirements:

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent certification in design and technology education.

  • Strong background in design, engineering, or a related field, with expertise in practical skills and design thinking.

  • Experience teaching DT or related subjects to students of varying ages and abilities (preferred but not required).

  • Excellent communication, teamwork, and organizational skills.

  • Commitment to fostering a culture of creativity, innovation, and problem-solving among students.
