Job Description

We at Twenty4Seven Education are currently seeking a dedicated and creative Food Technology Teacher to join one of our esteemed secondary schools in Coventry.

As a Food Technology Teacher, you will have the chance to nurture students' passion for food and equip them with essential culinary skills for life.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Plan and deliver engaging and practical Food Technology lessons that cover a range of culinary techniques, nutrition principles, and food safety practices.

  • Create a positive and inclusive learning environment where students feel empowered to explore, experiment, and express their creativity through cooking.

  • Provide instruction on food preparation, cooking methods, recipe development, and menu planning, incorporating hands-on cooking experiences and demonstrations.

  • Integrate lessons on nutrition, healthy eating, and sustainability to promote students' understanding of the connection between food, health, and the environment.

  • Differentiate instruction to accommodate students with varying levels of culinary experience and dietary preferences, providing personalized support and challenge as needed.

  • Assess student progress through practical cooking assessments, written assignments, and taste tests, providing constructive feedback to support their culinary development.

Requirements:

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent certification in food technology or a related field.

  • Strong culinary skills and a passion for food and cooking.

  • Experience working in the food industry or teaching food-related subjects (preferred but not required).

  • Knowledge of food hygiene and safety regulations, with the ability to teach and reinforce best practices in the kitchen.

  • Excellent communication, organization, and teamwork skills.
