Job Description

Our client is a successful and well-established vehicle manufacturer. They are looking for someone to join them as a Quality Assurance Inspector on a temporary basis. As a QA Inspector / Quality Assurance Inspector you will perform checks on the vehicles manufacture to ensure a perfect finished product.

This role would suit someone that has experience of checking the quality and finish of manufactured vehicles (e.g. coaches, buses, vans, trucks, lorries, rail carriages, rail engines, etc.).

A Quality Assurance qualification is NOT required, as long as you have previous experience of inspecting manufactured vehicles in general. E.g. Motor Mechanic / PDI / Pre Delivery Inspector / Automotive Production / Manufacturing Team Leder, etc.

NOTE: This is a temporary contract for a maximum of 6 months.

Salary £12.82 per hour.

Hours of work: 37.5 hours a week, Monday to Thursday 6.00am 2.30pm, Friday 6.00am 11.30am.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Check on a daily basis all aspects of receipted parts for conformity and defects
  • Action process for all defects through NCR process and be the first point of contact for production
  • Liaise with engineering, as and when required on technical information for confirmation of specification and conformity
  • Work and liaise with production for in stage demands focussing on requirements for build, quantities, colours and correct design
  • Carry out problem solving activities to support process and supplier improvements
  • Check critical identified parts in production in line with VOI information and issue VIN numbers to structures

Applicant requirements:

  • Previous experience in of inspecting manufactured / prepared vehicles for quality of production
  • Ability to interpret technical drawings/information to identify critical dimensions
  • You must hold valid driving licence (a PSV driving licence is desirable, but not essential)
  • Good problem solving skills with a logical approach
  • Excellent IT skills
  • Ability to be flexible and adapt to operational needs and changes
  • Must have a positive can do attitude
