Quantity Surveyor

Our client is a respected independent construction consultancy based in York. Due to continued growth, they are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Quantity Surveyor to join their team. The successful candidate will have a strong background in cost management and a keen eye for detail. This role involves working on diverse projects, offering the opportunity to make a significant impact and advance your career within a supportive and forward-thinking construction consultancy.

Key Responsibilities:

• Prepare detailed cost estimates and budgets for construction projects
• Conduct feasibility studies and risk assessments
• Manage the tender process, including the preparation and evaluation of tender documents
• Perform cost control and monitoring throughout the project lifecycle
• Prepare and analyse project valuations and progress reports
• Handle contract administration and dispute resolution
• Provide advice on procurement strategy and contractual matters
• Collaborate with clients, contractors, and other stakeholders to ensure successful project delivery

Key requirements:

• Bachelor's degree in Quantity Surveying, Construction Management, or a related field
• Minimum of 3 years' experience in a Quantity Surveying role

• Experience of preparing, monitoring, and controlling budgets within a value for money framework
• Demonstrate strong skills in budgetary profiling and cost control
• Excellent analytical and numerical skills
• Strong communication and negotiation abilities
• Must have a driving licence and have access to own car

On offer for the Quantity Surveyor:

• An above market rate salary of 35,000 - 42,000 depending on experience.
• Pension contributions of 3% matched
• 27 days annual leave, plus bank holidays
