We're on the lookout for a dedicated SEN Teacher to join a school in supporting KS2/3 students with complex needs. As a valued member of the team, you'll play a crucial role in guiding young learners aged 5 to 19 through their educational journey, fostering both academic achievement and personal development.

About The School: This school, established in April 2023, is committed to providing tailored support for students with a range of Special Educational Needs. With a capacity for 50 students, they prioritise a holistic approach to education, focusing not only on academic progress but also on social skills, personal growth, and readiness for future pathways.

  • Location: Wilmslow, Cheshire
  • Contract Type: Full-time Hours: 40 hours per week
  • Salary: Paid to scale

Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver engaging and effective teaching to meet the diverse needs of the students, promoting progress academically, socially, and emotionally.
  • Design and implement a varied curriculum, incorporating life skills development and preparation for qualifications.
  • Provide mentorship and support to Teaching Assistants, nurturing their professional growth and collaboration within the team.
  • Uphold school policies, with a strong emphasis on safeguarding and equal opportunities for all students.
  • Monitor and address the health, well-being, and personal care needs of students, working closely with support teams as required.

Essential Criteria:

  • Qualified Teacher status (PGCE, QTS, or equivalent)
  • Demonstrated track record of achieving excellent outcomes for students with Special Educational Needs
  • Thorough understanding of the curriculum, adapted to suit the needs of SEN learners
  • Previous experience working with students with a variety of complex needs
  • Sound knowledge of safeguarding principles and procedures
  • Ability to build positive and supportive relationships with students, promoting a nurturing learning environment
  • Flexible, creative, and adaptable approach to teaching methods
