SEN Teaching Assistant / Learning Support Assistant

Job Type: Long-term / Permanent / Part-time / Day-to-Day

Key Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate with teaching staff to deliver effective classroom support and assistance.
  • Provide one-on-one support and guidance to students with specific learning needs and challenges.
  • Foster a nurturing and inclusive learning environment that encourages academic and personal growth.
  • Assist in implementing Individual Education Plans (IEPs) for students with Special Educational Needs (SEN).
  • Support students' social and emotional development, contributing to their overall well-being.

Requirements:

  • Minimum of 6 weeks of prior experience working in a school setting.
  • Genuine passion for working with children and contributing to their learning progress.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to build positive relationships with students and colleagues.
  • Demonstrated patience, empathy, and the ability to connect with students from diverse backgrounds.
  • Flexibility and adaptability to excel in various educational settings.
  • Proactive attitude towards problem-solving and taking initiative.
  • Strong organizational skills to manage tasks and responsibilities effectively.

Preferred (but not essential) Qualifications and Experience:

  • Experience working with students with Special Educational Needs (SEN).
  • Relevant qualifications or training related to Learning Support or SEN.
  • Familiarity with various teaching strategies and educational interventions.
