Senior/Principal Town Planner - Consultancy

Location: Bristol (Flexible in location with offices in most major UK Cities).

Salary: 30 - 50k

The Role

We are seeking a talented Senior or Principal Town Planner to join a dynamic Planning Consultancy team in Central Bristol. In this role, you will provide commercial planning advice to a diverse range of private and public sector clients, guiding development proposals through all planning stages. You will work on an array of projects including city centre regeneration, high-density housing, retail development, sports and leisure facilities, and more. You won't be pigeonholed; instead, you'll have the opportunity to work across a broad project portfolio.

In Bristol, you can expect to be part of a small Planning team that has major growth plans for the coming months, which will mirror the large teams created in other major cities throughout the UK.

About You

This highly reputable Consultancy are looking for an enthusiastic, proactive team player with experience in private sector consultancy or local authority. You will have strong communication skills, a passion for sharing knowledge, and a drive to learn and contribute to the team's ongoing success, alongside a solid understanding of the planning process, including applications, policy frameworks, and appeals. The ability to engage in critical thinking, project management, and negotiation will be essential, and skills such as being capable of preparing planning appraisals and documentation, as well as engaging with planning authorities and stakeholders will be well utilised.

Qualifications

  • MRTPI - Although those close to Achieving APC will be considered.
  • Degree in Town Planning or related field.
  • Strong technical and analytical skills.
  • Experience in private sector consultancy is advantageous, but not required.
