Job Description

Job Title: Inventory and Supply Manager

Salary: Up to £41,000 annually

Schedule: Monday to Friday, 8:45 am to 4:45 pm (Work from home on a Friday)

Location: Knutsford

Overview:

The Inventory and Supply Manager implements the European inventory strategy at the regional level and devises supply measures based on demand planning, service levels, and constraints. This role oversees the Purchasing Coordinator.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Accountable for supply planning and inventory management for designated partner portfolios
  • Maintains ongoing supply chain management interface with designated partners
  • Generates a feasible, monthly rolling net supply plan for regional Core Hubs
  • Identifies bundling opportunities at regional and European levels
  • Establishes rules for bottleneck management in alignment with regional purchasing and sales
  • Manages constraints based on established rules
  • Implements the European inventory strategy by defining and ensuring the implementation of standard strategies for regional Core Hubs
  • Manages inventory levels in regional core hubs, including slow-moving, aged, and excess inventory
  • Holds accountability for and is measured against inventory targets
  • Monitors planning quality (KPIs) regularly and updates planning master data as needed
  • Provides support with network design
  • Directly manages the Purchase Coordinators
  • Proactively identifies and recommends continuous improvement topics within their business area
  • Performs any relevant additional tasks as designated by their Line Manager

Requirements:

  • Minimum of five years of professional experience in business, supply chain management, or comparable fields, preferably in retail, distribution, or the plastics industry
  • Profound knowledge of inventory management, supply planning, constraint management, and purchasing
  • Fluent in business English (spoken and written); additional European languages are advantageous
  • Proficient in MS Office (Access, Excel, PowerPoint), Supply Net Planning (e.g., SAP APO SNP), Data Warehouse Solutions (e.g., SAP BW), and Material Management (e.g., SAP MM)
  • Open-minded and adaptable to new challenges
  • Ability to align operational activities with organisational goals and work proactively on own initiative
  • Strong numerical understanding, analytical, and problem-solving skills with a structured approach to complex data handling
  • Effective team leader with coaching and performance management capabilities
  • Possesses coordination, organisation, and solution-oriented mindset
  • Readiness to make decisions and take on responsibility, manage escalations and changes
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills, with the ability to translate numbers and data into reliable insights
  • Familiarity with Demand Planning tools (e.g., SAP APO DP)
